Indigo Dying

In this class we will dye student provided cotton and t-shirts in Indigo using the dyeing techniques taught by Daren. Daren will establish Indigo dyeing vats for all students to color blue until their hearts content. Students will go home with dyed fabrics and a t-shirt. These hand-dyed fabrics that you create in this class, can be used in art quilts, home decorations or wearables.

You will learn how to prepare your fabrics and t-shirts and will come home with a varied amount of designs in fabric/shirt. Your fabrics, which you dye from this workshop should be washed, once at home, in the washing machine to get all of the excess Indigo out. Or with the next blue jean load. This is a great class for summer/spring/fall, because we can go outside to hang the dyed indigo samples on a clothesline. We will take a short break for a bring-your-own-lunch.
